Shengdao is home to many high peaks. But one in particular, found within the Frost Peaks, is a mysterious that holds many stories and tales.

The mountains found within the Frost Peaks are tentatively and awkwardly located at first sight; but once a Shiji-Long climbs up a mountain and admires the view, it will take their breath away. Soon enough, in a hastening host, an army of white militia paratroops out of the close sky over the existing coat of the cold, icy texture. Snow is white and grey, infinitely repetitious, soft and hard, frozen and barely melting, a creaking underfoot and nothing but a soundlessness. It makes the one white coat… into another fresh coat of white.

The mountains within the Frost Peaks are at a close proximity; but the land below, sitting right in the middle of these tall, rocky and snowy alps, holds a small village to some Shiji-Long.

This is a particular and hidden village, however. It is unbeknownst to the rest of Shengdao, and one can only step foot into it with a special invitation.

Upon entering this village, the first thing you will notice are the Shiji-Long themselves. Their scales and fur are thicker than the normal, meaning they have adapted to the cold, frigid weather from these winter nights. The chilly winds don’t affect them, nor do the falling snowflakes that hit their bodies.

Moving on to the land itself… Several pine trees and cedar trees stand in various places, covered in a white coat of snow. They provide some shading from the sun on warmer days, or even hook up a swing or build a treehouse for the children to play with!

One tree in particular, standing tall and large in the middle of the village; a willow tree. It’s a graceful architecture, playing an ornamental that provides a large potion of shading, and is a focal point to the entire village.

Many plants adorn needle-like leaves, conserving water by decreasing the surface area of the leaves. They’ve adapted to the cold weather as well, surviving through the coldest nights in the village. These plants can range from peonies, to bee balms, to coral bells, hostas, and many more. Despite these plants losing their beautiful bloomings over the course of the winter season, they will always be reborn and look as beautiful as ever when summertime rolls around.

A small course of river runs throughout the village as well, providing the Shiji-Long some water; which carries many nutrients, as well as some algae and a small variety of fish to feast upon.

Around the village can be found several wooden cabins, of all shapes, sizes and colour. Many Shiji-Long families reside in these homes, running from generation to generation, continuing on the work of their ancestors and passing it down to the newer generations.

This hidden, secret village found within the Frost Peaks has been left unheard of for many years, and it intends to be kept that way for many more years to come…
