The elder war
In the beginning there were a lot more elders. All of different size, appearance and opinion. All had their own territory, coexisted in peace, despite their differences. When the shiji were created, a lot of elders shaped them after their own image, which created a widevariety of different appearances. The Shiji-Long also followed the opinions of their elders,
defending and protecting their ideals. This created tension, since a lot of elders thought their offspring to be superior, better than others who might follow easier lives. Some elders despised the Shiji-long though, they even thought these newly born creatures were abominations of their own form and not worth nurturing. These vast difference of opinion led to more tension, and eventually war. Some elders tried to flee, with or without their descendants, some used the shiji as an army to fight the other side they thought was in the wrong. Other elders especially targeted these descendants to eradicate them
completely, wanting nothing else but rule the lands themselves. There were more than a few factions with different goals.
A coalition of elders tried to save their descendants from the enemies to save their future. They formed a community of purpose, leaving their differences behind to establish armies to conquer enemy territory and drive the rogue elders away.
There were a portion of elders that did not want to fight at all, denying both sides and thus brought their wrath upon them, which branded them as deserters. These elders never participated in the war, despite that some of them had descendants themselves. They are called the Fleeing Ones.
Superiority was a guiding factors for other elders. Their lust for power had them fight everything in their way, even using their own offspring as soldiers.
The last faction fought against the elders and the very idea of the shiji-long, wanting nothing else but their eradication. These elders did fight against everyone who didn't join their cause.
The war took place on the big planes of Shengdao and resulted in the now known elder graveyard. Bones of elders were found all over Shengdao though, showing how horrific the war had been. Most of the elders lost their lives in the war, which lasted countless years, until finally the coalition of elders won. Not all elders of the opposition died though. Some
were banished, some just vanished to never be seen again. The current surviving elders don't know whether there still are other elders in Shengdao or on earth, and if, where they are. One can just hope that this war was the last of its kind.
