Once upon a times don't always come with a happy ending…

Ilria was reborn. Reborn into times unknown.

In this life cycle, Ilria wasn't born with her litter mates, she was born in an orphanage in a small city somewhere outside of the Dark Forest.

The head mistress of the orphanage made the younglings earn their keep by stealing. Ilria was a master thief and pickpocket before ten years of age. If the younglings didn't make their quota, they were to sleep outside in the cold without food, water or warmth.

One evening, Ilria pick pocketed the wrong Shiji-Long. A head guard from Tianshu was on assignment undercover, and Ilria thought she had gotten away with it, but alas she wasn't as careful as she usually was. The male offered her two choices once he had caught up with her, let him cut off her hands, or come with him to Tianshu to enlist in the training programs to become a guard.

His offer came with a promise and a warning. She would have a roof over her head, warm food and water, but if she were to step out of line again, she'd be tossed in the dungeons with the other criminals.

With his words also came a memory of her last life cycle. The war. It seemed like Ilria had fought in the great war of Shengdao. What didn't make sense was why she was reborn now and not sooner. And what happened to her family? Illria vowed to find out, if it took her whole life cycle, so be it.

She took up the Guards offer, and was whisked away from the miserable life she knew to a somewhat better situation.

Once in Tianshu, she was offered up to the Barracks like a lamb to slaughter. Fresh meat. The Head Guard, Arren had warned her that the other recruits would frown upon her arrival, one, because she was female, and two because she was much younger than them.

As she was warned, the recruits didn't take lightly to a young female joining their ranks. Hazing and bullying started, but she refused to give up and let them win. She trained hard, studied even harder, the bullying only pushed her, hardened her resolve to become a better warrior.

However, with time, her memories of her previous life cycle slowly began to surface. She was a War general, one of the youngest to offer their lives for the war of Shengdao. These memories helped her in the many years of training, her skills putting her at the top of the recruit list. It didn't make many happy, but at the same time, Arren was proud, to Ilria, his opinion was the only one that mattered. She proved to him she could do better.. Be better. At the age of 30, she is still one of the youngest in the training core to progress so far, so quickly. Regardless of her position within the ranks, she has earned many of the warriors respect, and continues to prove herself on a daily basis.. However, her story has only just begun..
