Senegal

Born with the name Senaya, the young Shiji-Long never really felt comfortable with themselves. Something was off, something was wrong. And with more and more time passing, and their body showing signs of maturity, it became clear to them what had caused this feeling. Wishing to be a male, not a female, each day in their female form was harder than the one before. Changing his name to Senegal helped - yet his body was a constant reminder of him not being truely himself. So he seeked out an elder and asked for advise. Being told that the old gods were able to transform body and mind, Senegal had new hope. He learned about what kind of gifts those gods would enjoy as an offer, underwent a long process of creating a beautiful golden strawberry necklace, and went out on the journey to seek out Qíng.
The elder, once found, was flattered by the beautiful piece of craftsmanship - and in return worked his magic. Not without a warning though. Magic of such kind left scars and was not without pain. Fearful of that, Senegal still agreed to it, his scales breaking as the magical cords from the elder's fingertips digged under his skin.

Not one day since has he regretted this decision, joyfully pursuing his life, proud of the scars of the elder's touch.
