🌊 Background
Levy was born to a massive family where she often found herself fading into the background against the vibrant personalities and lives of her brothers and sisters. However, even though Levy's meek personality resulted in her being a mere afterthought at home, her dark eyes and mottled fur meant that outside of her home she gained more than her fair share of unwelcome stares and sidelong glances. Aggressively avoiding eye contact might have worked for some Shiji-long, but for Levy no amount of timid ground-staring could shrink the poor girl small enough to escape the gazes of others - leaving her eventually to turn to the safety of the wilderness instead. Having always loved rivers and streams, Levy made her home in the Lifestream Delta, erecting a small tent that eventually grew into a camp deep within the lush wetlands.
As Levy began to explore the area she'd begun to call her home, she quickly discovered an abundance pearls in the delta's waters. On rare occassions, she would even find pearls with vaguely magical properties; their essence fueled by the magic of the waters she'd come to call her home. But in time, Levy's collection of pearls and shells began to grow far beyond anything a single dragon could ever need. She recalled a few passing travelers making mention of the not-too-far city of Tianshu and so, one day when she was feeling particularly brave, she bundled herself and headed off to Shengdao to look into selling a portion of her collection.
The venture turned out to be quite fruitful for the young Shiji-Long and she found many jewelers within Tianshu's walls which were eager to buy her watery treasures; especially those rare beauties glowing with magical essence. She'd spent mere hours in the city before jewelers even began to seek her out - after all, her unique appearance left her sticking out like a sore thumb, even in the diversity of the bustling city. The last of these attempts exhausted all the bravery the little shiji had garnered to make the trip and so she quickly rushed home, her sack of pearls now emptied and replaced with a generous amount of Bi.
It would be many months before Levy travelled to the city again, but over the course of the next few years she slowly became more accustomed to Tianshu, becoming well known for her infrequent trips to unload pearls and the occassional particularly beautiful shell or naturally smoothed river stone.
🐚 Trivia
- Levy carries a small 'worry stone' with her; a smooth river stone with streaks of another opalescent mineral lining it's center. The stone is perfectly smooth, convex on one side and concave on the other. When she is feeling particularly nervous, which is sometimes rather frequently, Levy will be seen clutching the stone to her chest and rubbing her thumb against it's well nervously.
- When swimming, water gives Levy's hair a beautiful shine, making her mane a bright and beautiful green color. Her markings also become less contrasting under water, her wet fur fading to the colors of a riverbed as she glides through the water.
- She has a stutter when she is nervous - which is about 90% of the time. The worse her anxiety is, the worse the stutter is.
- Levy has a deep-seated crush on Yixin, the Elder that occupies the Lifestream Delta. She often follows him around, but has never approached him. She keeps a small assortment of treasures she intends to give to him one day, but most likely never will. She also has a habit of drawing highly inaccurate pictures of him.
