Grey

The owner of a large-scale Thieves Guild in Tianshu's underground, little is publicly known about Grey. Very few work with him directly and most who do are not graced with even a basic sense of his appearance, as the Shiji uses mind magic to destort every aspect of his being. His face, in particular, is the worst - as it often appears shrouded in smoke due to his magic. Those staring into it's depths may sometimes swear they can see the outline of a form - only to trace their eyes across the ghostly hints of a completely different face mere moments later. Although always appearing as male, his height, body structure, and even voice may change based on the day. 

Although not evil, Grey cares little for the plight of others. His primary focus is work, pouring himself into running the underground organization that he built single-handedly. Rumors surround him, varying from outlandish tales that he is actually an elder or that he's not truly alive to those which are merely intriguing - such as his bedroom habits. One of the most widely believed rumors is that the reason he became a thief was because - long ago - someone stole his heart, never to return it. Although some believe that the rumor is merely a metaphor, others believe it to be literally true... That the mysterious Shiji somehow exists without any heart inside his chest at all; a misconception that is most likely the root of the "he isn't truly alive" rumors as well.
