This fatherly Shiji tends to take on the role of mentor to many others who are new to the city of Tianshu and the typical traditions therein. His gentle, calm demeanor tends to draw children to him as well, the most prominent of which being his adopted daughter, Xiulan. His official role is similar to a magistrate: he is involved with law and tradition without directly being an enforcer of them, despite still maintaining a soldier's battle-ready physique.
