Some Shiji-Long have powerful souls or magic that cannot be fully contained by their physical form. These become visible as an "aura" overlying and matching their physicial form (sometimes with slight distortions with magic use or strong emotion).

A ghostly shadow that follows a Shiji-Long around, the shadow isn't magical and the reason for it is still unclear. Some say it is a soul of an anchestors, others say it is a shadow of a past life.
