Based on the frilly external gills of the beloved axolotl for the Aquatic subspecies

These gills instead protrude out the body to obtain oxygen from the water. Frills may vary in length.

I wasn't entirely sure if this counted as a body modification or a trait? But I'm just glad to share it if it doesn't count :)
